SUMMER 2007 CEDAR RAPIDS STREET TREE INVENTORY Last year, over one-hundred volunteers were asked to conduct an inventory of street trees from a sampling of neighborhoods across Cedar Rapids. In less than three weeks, 750 trees were identified and assessed. We need volunteers to conduct and complete this inventory in order to help quantify the benefits and values of trees and natural areas in Cedar Rapids. Join us to learn more about the inventory and collection methods on Tuesday, July 10, at Lowe Park Arts and Environment Center, 4500 10th Street, Marion, IA. Please attend one of the two classes offered at either 11a.m. - 2 p.m. or at 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Uncomfortable identifying trees? Don't worry, local experts are here to help! You may receive hands-on, tree identification training during the week of July 16-19th from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. (locations to be announced on July 10) The tree inventory will be conducted through mid-October.
